Yahweh’s Definition of Beauty

To understand true beauty, we must understand to whom we belong. The world did not create us and does not know us. Yahweh did and does. Our existence came of the will of Yahweh, the all-knowing, all-powerful Creator who sees the works of His hands and calls them “good.”  We were created in a magnificent outpouring of Yahweh’s love.

What then is Yahweh’s definition of beauty?

We find the answer in a passage that mostly little kids memorized but we seldom considered it when defining beauty.

Yochanan(John) 3:16 “For Elohim so loved the world that He gave His only brought-forth Son, so that everyone who believes in Him should not perish but possess everlasting life.”

Perhaps you wonder how this Scripture defines beauty. This is the most beautiful act between Yahweh and man, offering of His own Son to be the sacrifice for our sin. Yahweh’s beauty is pure and undefiled. Yahweh’s beauty is eternal and gives life. Yahweh’s beauty requires ultimate vulnerability, a nakedness of the soul before Him. Yahweh’s beauty is true because it is the truth. “Psalm 149:4 – For Yahweh takes pleasure in His people; He will beautify the meek with Salvation. ” Salvation is true beauty, Yahweh’s definition of beauty, because we have been bought with that which is eternal. Consider the irony that we are to find our beauty in One who is described as having “no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.” Isaiah 53:2 Because of the worlds’ superficial understanding of beauty, those who are worldly cannot see the true beauty of Messiah; thus they perceive Him as having no form or comeliness.  We must desire things that draw us to Messiah and bring us to fullness of life in Him. He is our salvation; so too He is our beauty. The only way we will ever know true, pure physical beauty.

Charm can lie, beauty can vanish, but a woman who fears Yahweh should be praised.  Pro. 31:30
