in all things, there is {good}

there is Good

Do not be overcome by evil,

but overcome evil with good.

Romans 12:21

     You wake up thinking that today is going to be a good day when in the end it turns out badly. And you sit down at the end of the day wondering what happened? How could everything go from being great and then go to horrible in a flash?

     You lay awake in the middle of the night, staring up at the ceiling, tears slipping down your cheeks because it’s the only thing you can seem to come up with to make you feel a little better, when in fact, it only makes you feel worse.

Is this it? Where’s the rainbow that is promised?

     You close your eyes and wait for something to happen. And then you hear a small voice whisper to you, “I haven’t left you.” You breathe in, thoughts circulating through your mind. Suddenly you feel stronger than ever. You finally feel like you can make it through this hurdle. And you can—you will.

His plans are Good and not Evil.

For the rest, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is righteous, whatever is clean, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good report, if there is any uprightness and if there is any praise – think on these.

  1. These last three posts have been very encouraging for me. My young aunt passed away tragically under very horrible circumstances back in August, and she left behind four children who were all still at home, and she’s been divorced for five years. We are struggling with why she made the choices that she did, and my grandparents have been having an extremely difficult time, as well. I’ve been struggling to see the good in our current situation, and this was very encouraging for me through this sad and difficult time. Thank you so much for posting this.
