Oh, Restless Heart…

Dear Heart

Oh, Restless Heart that beats within

The chains that bind, the battles to win

Constant sorrow, constant flame

Here I am again, fighting pain

Oh, Restless Heart, what do you need?

The world and it’s treasures call to thee

You think you know what love you seek

Only to leave you broken and weak

Oh, Restless Heart, the things you whisper

The yearnings, the loneliness, make you wither

What do you want, oh you who wish to lead?

For something nice and something sweet?

Oh, Restless Heart, you think you lead

But I say, listen closely to me

Dear Heart, oh Heart of mine

Let me tell you something fine

Dear Restless Heart, wont you see?

The treasure you seek is here with thee

Here is what you are looking for

Wait for what your Maker has in store

You, Restless Heart

Love is here, a Light in the dark

I give you to Him, for He is Gentle

He cares for even the simple

Dear Heart,

Do not look back now

The only treasure that can be found

Is the only Love that is safe and sound

This Love wont fail and is true

This Love can make a broken heart new

Oh, Restless Heart, rest within me

In His gentle care, you’ll always be

  1. Definitely reflects the longings of a teenage girl. I shared it with my girl, I know it will minister to her for she can relate to this restlessness. In a way it also speaks to us the bride of Yahushua waiting anxiously for her bridegroom. You are a beautiful soul, Jenna.
