Wait For His Best…

My mom and I are reading the book Before You Meet Prince Charming again, and I just thought of sharing this hoping it will help any young ladies out there…

1Samuel 16:6-7—”So it was, when they came, that he looked at Eliab and said, “Surely Yahweh’s anointed [is] before Him.”  But Yahweh said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have refused him. For [Yahweh does] not [see] as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but Yahweh looks at the heart.”

Pray for a man after Yahweh’s own heart. Pray for a man who’s life is devoted to Yahweh so that as you give yourself to him, you will be using your life to bring for fruit that is eternal. Pray for a man who loves Messiah more than he loves you. Pray for a man upon whom Yahweh’s blessing is evident.

I’d encourage you to make a list of qualifications to look for in a husband. A list of essential qualities—things that you consider a requirement for marriage, and a list of desirable qualities—things that are important to you, though not necessarily a requirement.

Here are a few qualifications to consider for your list:

Does he have assurance of eternal life?

Does he faithfully share the gospel with others?

Is he always truthful?

Is he committed to never being divorced?

Does he honor his parents?

Has he applied diligence in spiritual disciplines such as Bible reading, prayer, fasting, memorization, and giving?

Does he make all decisions based upon the Word of Elohim?

Would you be excited to have him as the father of your children?

Is he diligent in his work and wise in his use of his money?

Is Yahweh calling you in the same direction of ministry?

Does he ask forgiveness when he is wrong?

Is he humble and willing to be a servant?

Is he kind, thoughtful, and gracious?

Is he generous with others?

Does he respond to criticism in a Messiah like way?

Is he willing to stand alone?

Do you see spiritual fruit in his life?

It is important that we pray and ask Yahweh for strength to wait for His very best. It may take time for His best to come about, and a lot of times satan brings about his best even before Yahweh brings out His.

2Corinthians 6:14—Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?

May Yahweh lead and guide us as we walk daily in His presence!
